What are home inspections for?

Home Inspections are not intended for a buyer to get a perfect house.

No house is perfect.

The idea is for a buyer to have a professional look under the hood for structural defects and deferred maintenance.

In some cases a buyer might be able to use a home inspection to have a seller make repairs or give a credit but more often than not these days we are seeing used for informational purposes for a buyer to decide if they do or do not want to buy the house.
