Today we are throwing it back to our Onsite video collection with episode 32: Cabin John & Glen Echo!
On the edge of Bethesda in the Potomac Palisades are two enclaves that have their own zip codes. The Cabin John neighborhood and the town of Glen Echo.
There are some fun theories how Cabin John got its name. The Cabin John Creek is said to have been originally called Captain John’s Run and was named after the English explorer Captain John Smith. Others say there had been a John who lived in a cabin next to the creek after the American Revolution. Others say a pirate named Captain John buried his treasure near the creek and lived out his life in the woods.
