Let’s Tour Rosslyn

Today we are in Rosslyn taking a look back at our Onsite Episode 8, let’s go!

Well known for its skyscrapers Rosslyn is the gateway of Arlington Virginia and Washington DC. Connected by the Key Bridge to Washington DC, Rosslyn is home to many high-rises. Rosslyn has the benefit of being in Virginia and is not limited by the same height restrictions that buildings in DC are.

A little history for you; Word has it that the area got its name from a farm owned by a William Ross and his wife Carolyn or Ross Lyn. At one point there was an aqueduct across the Potomac River for the C&O canal to go to Alexandria. Rosslyn had some interesting periods and really came into its own in the 1960s when high-rise development came to the area with the buildout of the interstate highways from DC out into Suburban Virginia.
