It’s Friday and that means it’s time to take a dive into our YouTube archive collection. Today we are revisiting Onsite episode 11: Cleveland Park.
Cleveland Park is a residential neighborhood in Washington, D.C. located just up the hill from downtown D.C. and was once home to, you guessed it, President Grover Cleveland.
In the early days of the neighborhood it was home to Washingtonian’s summer estates because of its higher elevation and cooler summer time temperatures.
Later on in the neighborhood’s life it was an early “streetcar suburb” with homes designed by individual architects and builders which gives it the eclectic mix of homes styles it has today as well as later additions by Winthrop Faulkner & I.M. Pei .
The area is also well known for its great access to The National Zoo and its restaurant corridor along Connecticut Avenue.
